Building Size: 315,000 sf
Project Cost: $81 million
Certifications: LEED Gold Goal
Community has driven this project from the beginning. Funding for the project was approved by Portland voters. Public input guided the designers and shaped the project's priorities.
Power consumption will be minimized by utilization of daylighting strategies wherever feasible. Light emitting diode (LED) lighting will be utilized.
Energy use will be monitored by a building automation system, allowing the school district to monitor power usage, and fine‑tune sub‑systems to maximize efficiency.
High‑efficiency, natural gas‑fired boilers/heaters will supply hot water to low-flow plumbing fixtures and baseboard heaters throughout the school.
The electrical system will be configured for expansion of the existing photovoltaic (PV) array. This finished high school is projected to meet LEED standards for Gold certification.
